Really enjoying looking at the photos. The Headmaster is my great-grandfather, John MacDonald. It says above that he married the teacher in the photo, Grace MacPherson. The teacher is actually May MacPherson and he did indeed marry her, she is my great-grandmother. May died in June 1963 and John died in December 1987. They both died in Blaracha, Roybridge.

My Grandmother Agnes Cummiskey and her sister my Great Aunt Mary Cummiskey are both in this photo. I have just recently found this and I am so overjoyed to have it... My gran Agnes Cummiskey Casey died in 2005 age 96. She was a wonderful Granny and she lived a very full life... She worked until she was 80 years old. After that in 1990 my dad, her only son died and it sent her in a downward spiral really... She lived in her own house until she was 90 and then she began to get confused a lot. She had a partner a few years after my grandfather died in 1968, and he was going blind as Gran was going deaf and confused. It was very difficult for us all then, but she was really bright and a funny little lady and spoke fondly of her time in Fort William... Where she learned Gaelic. Aunt Mary had rickets and said that Mrs McFarlane oiled and massaged her legs every night... She was very kind to them... Gran died in a nursing home in 2005, all the staff loved her sense of humor. She is sorely missed. Aunt Mary lived out the last 30 odd years of her life in England. Gran stayed in Glasgow. Both of them were only about 4ft 9ins in height but made up for it in character... Thank you for this web site... :)
